Dubapest HiFi is the first real reggae soundsystem in Hungary. The sound's 2 selectas and operators are Jahfar and Captain Midnite, accompanied by Haroon Ayyaz on the microphone. The sound currently has 6 scoops, 2 double kick boxes, 4 mid-high boxes and two tweeter boxes, with 30 000 watts in amps. The 2 selectas play various styles as roots reggae, dub, stepper, early and new digital. Jahfar's selection is more deep and spiritual, Midnite likes to shake up the dance digital style while Haroon Ayyaz promotes love, harmony and consciousness on the microphone. The combination of their music taste introduces the listener to a wide spectrum of real reggae music. Dubapest HiFi's goal is to unite the people through the messages in reggae music, to wake up the people with love in this consumerist generation.
LB27 Reggae Camp:
We 've organized and hosted our own dub stage called DubYard at LB27 Reggae Camp festival since 2014. Over the years we invited many artist like O.B.F. ft. Shanti D, Alpha Steppa, Sista Awa, Indica Dubs, Danman, Paolo Baldini, Moa Anbessa, Kibir La Amlak, Sista Habesha, Murray Man, Naram, Culture Dub and many more.
Budapest Dub Club:
We've also been organizing indoor sessions through autumn and winter since 2015. We promote the Hungarian reggae/dub scene, and we try our best to invite singers, producers and selectors from abroad so the Hungarian massive can get a chance to hear and experience the diversity of reggae music and sound system culture. We invited names like: Channel One, Alpha Steppa, Vibronics, Echo Ranks, Ashanti Selah, Junior Roy, Murray Man, Moan Anbessa, Prince David, Don Diego, Riddim Tuffa, Dub Creator, TRS Records and many more.
Dub In the City:
In 2017 we started to do free outdoor sesssions in Budapest to spread the message and the music in the middle of the city, to get across to as many people possible. So we set up the sound and let the good vibes flow.
Uprising festival (SK):
We've been powering the dub stage since 2018 at Uprising Festival alongside Dub Phase sound sytem, the first Hungarian dubstep sound, who have helped us a lot along the way!
